Chief Instructor James Man Chin
Shifu James Man Chin has been a Martial Artist since 1973. He is privileged to be one of only eight Swai Jiao Kung Fu Instructors personally trained and Certified by Grand Master Jeng, Hsing Ping in the complete Chinese Swai Jiao system. Moreinfo about James Man Chin
Coach Pak Fong
Pak Fong has over 25 years of martial arts experience and he earned the rank of Black Belt in Aikido. His martial arts training have encompassed Karate, Judo (when he lived in Japan), Tai Chi, Qigong, Meditation, Aikido and Kung Fu. Pak began his Swai Jiao KF training with Shifu Chin at the Buddha Gate Monastery several years ago and he is currently preparing for his Black Belt level test in Swai Jiao.
Coach Tom Parrish
Tom Parrish has over 18 years of martial arts experience and he earned the rank of Black Sash level in Eagle Claw Kung Fu. His martial arts training have encompassed Judo, Karate, Jiujitsu, Eagle Claw Kung Fu, Contemporary Wushu, Capoeira, and Swai Jiao. Tom started his Swai Jiao KF training with Shifu Chin at the Buddha Gate Monastery and he is currently preparing for his Black Belt level test in Swai Jiao.
Assistant Coach Rosalyn Boles
Rosalyn started her formal Swai Jiao KF training with Shifu Chin at the Buddha Gate Monastery and she is currently preparing for her Red Belt level test in Swai Jiao.
Assistant Coach Mintai Henry Tang
Mintai Tang began his Swai Jiao KF training during his freshman year of high school under the guidance of his godfather, Shifu Chin. Since then, he has competed in and won several tournaments in both California and Texas. In 2009, he wrote "From Shuai Jiao to Judo, China to Japan," an academic essay on the relationship and differences between Chinese Swai Jiao and Japanese Judo. He also completed two years of sports medicine internship and hopes to pursue the medical field as well as continue Swai Jiao. Mintai Henry Tang completed the requirements for Phase One of the instructor’s training program for Chinese Swai Jiao Kung Fu, Northern Shaolin Long Fist and Tai Chi Chuan.
Junior Coach Michael Chin
Michael is the CMAA co-lead instructor for the youths Kung Fu classes at the Contra Costa Chinese School -- Diablo Valley College in Concord, California. He earned his formal appointment in 2007 as an 11 year old. Michael has been training with Sifu Chin since childhood, and his forte is empty hand forms. Michael had won 1st place at the 2007 AAU Chinese Martial Arts National Competitions in Texas for Youth Division Traditional Northern Shaolin Long Fist.
